Attention AWS Members and whiskey enthusiasts! We’ve created a signature cocktail for our fast-growing society. In the wintery chill last night we were inspired to create something that would take us to a more tropical place, if only in our mouths. Behold, the Astoria Whiskey Swizzle!
We only had a little left of the Domaine de Canton and we thought, what better way to finish it off than mixing it with something you wouldn’t normally guess would go together, Monkey Shoulder Blended Scotch Malt Whisky. To top it all off, a few dashes of our new favorite bitters Dutch’s Colonial Cocktail Bitters. Hope you enjoy!
The Astoria Whiskey Swizzle
1 oz Monkey Shoulder Whisky
1 oz Domaine de Canton
3/4 oz Lime Juice
1 bar spoon Demerara Simple Syrup
2 dashes Dutch’s Colonial Cocktail Bitters
Combine ingredients in a pint glass or cocktail tin. Fill a Collins glass with lots of crushed ice, pour ingredients over ice, swizzle with a Swizzle Stick or bar spoon until glass is frosty. Top with more crushed ice and finish with a sprig of fresh Rosemary and a piece of Candied Ginger.
